JMC is a full boarding secondary school with students coming from all parts of the country. We have students from Katsina, Kaduna and Bornu in the Northern States and many students from the South-South Region of the country. The students are in school for thirteen weeks at a stretch (no mid-term break) for each of the three terms, i.e. the Christmas, Easter and summer terms. The students have three weeks holidays at Christmas, and Easter, as well as seven or eight weeks in the summer beginning in the month of July of each year.
The students attend classes Monday through Friday beginning at 7.50a.m for two periods before breakfast at 9.20a.m. The third, fourth and fifth periods of the day begin at 9.45a.m and end at 11.55a.m. There is a five minute Examen before the fifteen minute break period. The sixth and seventh periods begin at 12.20p.m and end at 1.45p.m.
After lunch at 1.50p.m, the students retire for siesta, or do their laundry depending on the schedule until 4.00p.m when the return to class for the last two periods of the day. Classes end at 5.25p.m when the students could have games or engage in extra-curricular activities. At 6.30p.m they go for this supper. The Daily schedule is attached below:
